White Flour Tortillas - Breakfast Burritos

This is a great recipe. These tortillas are so much better then what you buy in the grocery store. They don't have that "plastic bag" flavor! I made a batch recently and made breakfast burritos for my husband to take to work. He told me to post the recipes. I know this isn't as convenient and they are cheap to buy, but I sure hope you will try them. I served these with Pioneer Woman's restaurant style salsa.
The salsa is perfect. It is easy and so refreshing. Perfect with burritos!

Linda's Shepherd Pie

This is my sister Linda's recipe. She turned me on to it several years ago. I LOVE it! This is THE ULTIMATE comfort food! There are so many variations of this dish. Do feel free to change it up to your liking. The measurements may not be exact. Just use as a guide to get you going. My sister and I both realized recently that we are sorta "dump" cooks. We both cook by sight, taste and feel.

Fruit Cocktail Cookies

These take me straight back to my childhood. Mom made these a lot! I still love them to this day. They are very moist. They are actually better the next day. LOVE the fruit cocktail and the clove combination.

Swedish Pancakes

I ate these at IHOP and fell in love with them. Then I went on a mission so I could recreate these at home. I discovered this recipe online. It originates from the Vasa Country Club in Detroit from 1925. They are heavenly!

Bierocks Rock

I LOVE these bierocks! I got this recipe from my sister-in-law, years ago. It is a little work, but not too time consuming. I make them often. I usually make a side of cole slaw with the other 1/2 of cabbage leftover and chips.

Favorite Pie Crust

I have tried most of my adult like to bake a decent pie crust. I struggled and struggled over the years. I am embarrassed to admit that, I have only recently discovered how to make a pie crust to suit me. I still can't make a pretty pie, but it will melt in your mouth! I have always heard conflicting stories on using lard. Well, I finally tried it. I will never go back to shortening and/or butter crust EVER. If you have never experimented with lard, give it a shot!

NY Cheesecake

Tomorrow is my baby's birthday. Meg is turning 20! She asked me to cook her birthday dinner. She requested chicken strips, mashed potatoes, gravy, corn, dinner rolls and a New York cheesecake. I have been on a pie kick big time! I am going to make the Jif's Decadent Peanut Butter Pie too. It's been a huge hit with my family. I just put the cheesecake in the oven for tomorrow. I better get out the sweats now. Talk about GOOD FOR THE SOUL! That's all I am sayin.
